West Point Rail & Timber Co. owns and operates one of the largest RSBC inner coastal rail yards in Northern British Columbia. Our West Point spur line system connects directly to CN's East-West main line, providing daily service for inbound and outbound railcars.

We offer comprehensive logistics management services, handling the loading and unloading of a wide range of commodities. Our rail yard is equipped with advanced features, including transloading equipment, heavy-lift machinery, and a track mobile for efficient railcar movements.

With ongoing support from CN, West Point Rail & Timber Co. continues to enhance and expand its rail services, creating innovative solutions to meet the needs of a broader market.

Rail Yard Facilities

The West Point Rail facility features over 22,000 feet of rail spur lines.

We offer designated storage options for both short-term and long-term arrangements to meet our clients' operational needs.

Permanent operational facilities can also be developed along designated tracks to support specific requirements.

Heavy Equipment by Rail

West Point Rail offers 5,000 feet of dedicated rail for heavy equipment loading and unloading, supported by ramp systems, heavy-lift services, and ground transportation for direct delivery to your worksite.

​Heavy Commodities by Rail

 

West Point offers heavy lift support for large commodities, with direct loading or short -term storage as required by the client.

Heavy lift on materials or Sea-can containers up to 99,000lbs, additional crane support up to 300 ton is available.

Secure Energy

West Point Rail and Secure Energy have established a strong presence in scrap steel removal by rail in northwest B.C. The expanded scrap yard now handles large projects, including CGL, LNCG, and community scrap steel from Vanderhoof to Kitimat. Together, we are committed to further growth in the region to support efficient scrap steel removal

Molycop

West Point Rail is one of the largest grinding media distribution depots, serving gold mines and Molycop in the northwest region of Northern B.C. We proudly support Molycop by offloading all bulk media and managing the handling of incoming and outgoing bagged media.

Storage and Laydown Facility

West Point Rail offers 120 acres of gravel and concrete laydown space to accommodate both short- and long-term storage needs. Materials offloaded from the spur line are transported or shuttled to designated laydown areas. Heavy lifting and transloading operations are conducted in the rail yard, and West Point provides onsite government-certified scales to ensure all departing transport units meet legal load limits.

Coastal GasLink and LNG Kitimat have utilized West Point Rail’s offloading and extensive laydown facilities for their project materials, benefitting from the vast storage capacity and efficient handling services.
